This 10 week course builds upon the learning completed in the MARIO Educator Level 1 certification course and focuses specifically on improving the delivery of the evidence-based MARIO Approach through skilled one-to-one conversations. This course has a highly personalized feel as participants identify an individual learning goal that informs all aspects of their work with their MARIO coach and their peers. Throughout the course, participants engage in a design-thinking inspired iterative process where they continually grow and measure the impact of their one-to-one learning conversations with students utilizing the GoReact platform. GoReact enables participants to record their 1:1 sessions and receive detailed feedback from course peers and coaches through video annotation and rubric feedback. The emphasis of this course in on refining practice and improving efficacy of services delivered.
Number of Units: 1.0 - 4.5 graduate level extension credit(s) in semester hours. Participants select number of units upon checkout.
Who Should Attend: This course provides continuing education for K-12 Special Education Teachers, Learning Support Teachers, General Educators, Content Teachers, EAL Teachers, Administrators, and Counselors.
ÑÇɫӰ¿â – Graduate-Level Extension Credit Information
The ÑÇɫӰ¿â partners with this program to offer graduate-level extension credit(s) in semester hours through the Credit Validation Program. To earn units, participants must register for and successfully complete coursework through the external program provider.
Credits earned through ÑÇɫӰ¿â’s Credit Validation Program are widely accepted by many school districts and universities across the United States for purposes such as license renewal, required professional development hours, short-term skill building, salary advancement, credentialing, and potential advanced degree pathways. These units do not apply toward a master’s or higher degree program at the ÑÇɫӰ¿â; however, they may be transferable to advanced degree programs (e.g., MA, EdD, PhD) at other institutions that accept external graduate-level credits.
Participants are responsible for confirming acceptance, transcript requirements, deadlines, and applicability of units with their employing district or intended institution prior to enrollment.
Prerequisites:
Students must have successfully completed the MARIO Educator Certification Level 1 course prior to enrolling in this course. Participants gain the most from the course when they are either in teacher training or are actively working as teachers in K-12 settings.
